Give the gift of Real Ales this Christmas!

Maybe it’s a bit of an understatement to say that this year might … ahem, might not have been the best …

BUT we’re determined to spread some good cheer and we’ll still be hosting covid-compliant evenings at the Tap; (see below), and making sure you can get your hands on as much of our beer as you need to survive enjoy the holidays!

New Beer Alert!

Joining our rank of regulars, we have our delicious new Christmas special, Honeycomb.

Brewed with real, locally sourced Cumbrian honey, this beer offers a subtle, suggestive sweetness that bitter drinkers can still heartily enjoy. The honey, combined with traditional British Golding hops, results in a mellow, blossomy beer with a satisfying full body. It’s pretty bee-autiful, if we do say so ourselves.

New Fangled Beer Delivery System

We’re really excited to annouce that our Mini Kegs are officially good to go, and available in a number of our real ales!

We’ve been wracking our brains for a way to make sure folks can still enjoy our ale as it’s intended – casked and in good company, and these mini kegs deliver on just that. You can now enjoy our superior cask-quality ale from the comfort of your own home!

Packing in a solid approx. 9 pints, you can now enjoy a pub-quality pint in your Christmas PJs, whichever Tier you may be in.

We also want to take this time to say a massive ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has continued to support us during this really tough year. It has meant so much to us, and we hope to go on serving our customers and community into the new year.

You’re all amazing. Stay safe. Have a Merry Christmas.

Award-Winning Seven Bridges Strikes Gold!

We are delighted to announce that our Seven Bridges Lager has been recognized for a Gold SIBA Award!

Whilst Ennerdale Brewery is all about Real Ales, our amazing Head Brewer, Dave Morton, and his team created Seven Bridges so that we could have our own signature lager on at the Ennerdale Brewery Tap. From there, Seven Bridges has gone on to become one of our most popular, best-selling beers.

Can we officially call this ‘gold in a can‘ now?

Made using the same yeast we use to brew our range of Real Ales, Seven Bridges is technically a kolsh-style beer, brewed in the same way as beers from Cologne. This results in a beer that is more fruity, less hoppy, than a traditional pilsner.

When asked why Seven Bridges has been so successful, Dave said:

“It is easy enough to win awards with beer that use tons of hops, that slap you in the face with flavour. But Seven Bridges is a subtle beer; we don’t use a lot of hops, and we specifically use subtle malts – everything about this beer is careful. There’s nowhere for off flavours to hide.

Named after the seven bridges that cross the river Rhine through Cologne, this beer fittingly bridges the gap between casual lager drinkers and craft-beer lovers alike.

You can always find a pint of the cold stuff at the Tap & Bistro, as well as at a number of venues that we supply, including the Brook House Inn.

You can also buy Seven Bridges directly from us, in keg and cans.

Introducing … FRONTLINE IPA!

We’re super excited to announce that our new summer specialty is now available in cask, and will soon be available bottled.

That’s right folks, when the world gives you lemons – make ale!

This new ale is an old-school IPA, and has been brewed specially as a tribute to the incredible efforts of our Frontline workers.

Directors Barrie and Paul created this as a way to give a little back to those that have helped us through the pandemic – as such, all profits made from Frontline will be donated to the NHS.

“This is just our way to give a little back,” says co-creator Barrie.

And with plenty of tang, and spicy hoppiness, this satisfying copper IPA packs a bit of a punch at 4.5% ABV – but you can drink up knowing that this round is going to a great cause.

Available at the Ennerdale Tap and various pubs within the region.
